Medway host first Graduation Ceremony for Apprentices

A group of Kent and Medway partners were delighted to be arranging the first Kent Graduation Ceremony for Apprentices at the Rochester Cathedral on Friday 4th October.

This ceremony was for all levels of apprentices who had completed their apprenticeship between 1 January 2018 and 31 August 2019. The event brought together employers and apprentices from across the county to celebrate their successes, while encouraging even more people to consider apprenticeships as a pathway to a fruitful career and to support a flourishing business.

Guest speakers included Rochester and Strood MP Kelly Tolhurst and chair of the South East Local Enterprise Partnership, Christian Brodie.

Alison Parmar, development manager for the Federation of Small Businesses, explained: “We wanted to celebrate the apprentices’ achievement in the same way a university graduate is celebrated. Apprentices can be a fantastic recruitment solution for small firms as well as a viable route into an interesting career. We were delighted to be able to highlight over 100 apprentices’ achievements on Friday.”
